- Product name:
Y doped BaF2 Scintillator
Generally properties of BaF2：
|Light yield（relatively NaI:Tl%）||8/32|
Barium fluoride (BaF2) crystal has a fast scintillation light peaked at 195 and 220 nm with a 0.8 ns decay time. This ultrafast scintillation promises a wide application in an area where extreme fast timing is important, such as future high energy physics experiments, gigahertz hard X ray imaging, and time-of-flight(TOF) positron emission tomography. However, BaF2 also has a slow scintillation component peaked at 310 nm with a decay time around 660 ns, generally the fast/slow ratio is 1:5.
In order to make the suppression of the slow scintillation component in BaF2 crystal, we use the Yttrium(Y) as dopant during the growth procedure and acquired the BaF2-Y, the fast/slow ratio lead to be around 2:1.
BaF2 also shows excellent radiation hardness up to 106 rad or even more. All these properties make barium fluoride crystals favorable for the applications of nuclear detection involving very high counting rates and severe radiation.
We put a high value having EPIC Crystal in our circle of qualified suppliers. Our request for quotes are returned in a timely manner. The delivery is quick and the product is of a high quality, also the customer service is prompt and very professional.
