Foundation

Epic Crystal was dedicated to developing and manufacturing scintillation crystals based in Shanghai since 2005, mainly included the CsI(TI), NaI(TI), BGO, LYSO(Ce) and GAGG(ce) within the areas of radiation detection, nuclear medicine, security inspection, high energy physics, geological exploration and other relevant field.

Major Contribution

In 2008 and 2010, the NaI(TI) and CsI(TI) crystal were selected for the building of security inspection scanners for Beijing Olympic games 2008 and Shanghai Expo 2010. In 2015, the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency(DARPA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, aimed to defend the attack of radiological dirty bombs and other nuclear threat from terrorist, it launched the SIGMA Programme, we supplied more than 5000 pieces of CsI(TI) crystal.

Acquisition

The Shanghai Shuojie crystal material Co.,ltd, a company who was mainly responsible for the R&D of new scintillation crystals, like LaBr3(ce), YAG(ce) and GAGG(ce), was acquired by Epic Crystal in 2011 to complete a missing layer in Epic's technology stack as well as strengthen its presence in key markets, and boost its capabilities in the field of scintillation materials.

Internationalization

Before 2011, Epic Crystal mainly focus on Chinese domestic market, since the above mentioned acquisition we start to broaden into oversea markets with a dynamic growth, with the reliable product quality, affordable price, rapid delivery, flexible terms and always beyond-expectation service, we now win a great reputation worldwide and build clients relationship from multinational corporations to research institute, laboratory and university organizations.

Expansion

In order to improve the product capacity and meet clients request further, Epic Crystal built a new factory in 2013 located at Suzhou city, Jiangsu Province, it specialized in the production of LYSO(ce) crystal, whose demand was significantly increased in the nuclear medicine field like Positron Emission Tomography(PET) and high energy physics field.
